The stage of the GRAND TOUR that goes through the Vanil Noir reserve (of national importance for its very varied flora and fauna).
With the Charmey - Cabane des Marrindes - Château-d'Oex package, the hiker reaches the
Pays-d'Enhaut from the Jogne Valley, having crossed the Vanil Noir massif between high pastures, forests, mountain tracks and characteristic rural country. The course crosses the Vanil Noir Reserve (of national importance because of its very varied flora and fauna), in the centre of which the hiker will spend a night in the Cabane des Marrindes.
Do not miss: the Escaliers du Gros Mont waterfall, the superb views across the Fribourg Pre-Alps, and the typical Alpine pastures with the traditional preparation of cheese.
This hike can also be tackled in the reverse direction, leaving from Château-d'Oex.
