From the Bernese village of Guggisberg down to the sleepy hamlet of Hirschmatt; via forested hills to the rugged Sensegraben at Zollhaus, into Canton Fribourg and alongside the Warme Sense to the holiday centre of Schwarzsee.
Section 20 Guggisberg–Schwarzsee/www.schweizmobil.ch Section 21 Schwarzsee–Jaun: 10 km From charming Schwarzsee to Breccaschlund and into the jagged limestone landscape of the Greyerzer Alps, over the relatively low Euschelspass, carved out by glaciers, to Jaun, the only German-speaking village in the Gruyère region.
Section 21 Schwarzsee-Jaun/www.schweizmobil.ch Section 22 Jaun–Gruyères: 22 km A valley hike alongside the babbling Jaunbach crossing the language boundary to Charmey, following Lac de Montsalvens, with its many coves, to the dam and the spectacular Jaun-Schlucht gorge down to Broc and the famous Gruyère Castle.
Section 22 Jaun-Gruyères/www.schweizmobil.ch Section 23 Gruyères–Les Paccots: 17 km With the mighty Moléson in view and the town of Gruyère left behind, you climb to the middle cableway station at Plan Francey. Then hike along the north-west flank of the Moléson and descend to the richly-forested pre-Alpine landscape of Les Paccots.
Section 23 Gruyères-Les Paccots/www.schweizmobil.ch Section 24 Les Paccots–Vevey (Corseaux): 19km The hallmarks of Les Pléiades are a white carpet of narcissi in May and fantastic, all-year-round views of Lac Léman and the surrounding Alps. The steep ascent to Blonay can be eased by taking the cogwheel railway.
