Path of the « poyas »

Between Estavannens and Lessoc, walk back along the Sarine to explore the Gruyerian villages where you can still see the very old poyas (long wooden panels depicting the summer ascent of cattle and their owners to the high alps).
In the village of Estavannes, go by the church and for a few moments enjoy the panoramic views cross the Intyamon Valley.

Walk through the "Village d’en Haut" while admiring its ancient narrow streets. Walk past the Café des Montagnards to the Chapelle du Dah, then follow the path to Grandvillard. Some of the historic houses have got an explanatory sign on the front.

From there, the path takes you through forests and pastures to the little village of Lessoc. It’s worth making a detour to see inside the church and the magnificent ceiling sculptured in wood, as well as remarkable ancient frescos. The Lessoc fountain in the middle of the village is where you will find the famous legend.

With your curiosity satisfied, go back to Lessoc station to rejoin your vehicle or return the way you came.
